happy-faceTHE 2010 AWARDS SHOW DETAILS:

The 2010 ED’s Awards Show will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2010, in the Grand Ballroom at The Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The ED’s Awards nominees are determined by a ballot of previous ED’s Awards winners and nominees, as well as by select industry professionals.  The Final Ballot for the ED’s 2010 Awards will be posted online here at www.EDpublications.com, some time in July 2010.  Check back to this page as we announce the Awards Show host, presenters and other details in the coming months.

2009 AWARD SHOW RECAP:

expo09logoFor the 12th straight year, ED (Exotic Dancer) Publications’ Annual Adult Nightclub & Exotic Dancer Awards Show presented awards to the top adult nightclubs, industry executives and feature entertainers at the industry’s only national awards show.  Held during the 17th Annual expo2010button6Gentlemen’s Club Owners EXPO on Tuesday, August 25th at the brand new “Joint” showroom inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, the show was dubbed the “Rock N Jock Awards Show” and featured a live rock band and several special guest presenters.   Adult film superstarlet Jessica Drake hosted the show along with renowned club emcee Markie Mark.

The evening’s biggest winners included Rachelle Laree, who was crowned ED’s Overall Entertainer of the Year; The Men’s Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, which took home the prestigious Overall Gentlemen’s Club of the Year Award; and Deja Vu, which won the Club Chain of the Year Award.  (A complete list of 2009 nominees and winners is provided at the bottom of this page.)

“The brand new ‘Joint’ showroom was a big hit with our Awards Show guests, and the more casual ‘rock n roll’ format continues to be the preferred format,” says ED’s Associate Publisher Dave Manack.  “We were very pleased to once again present the multi-billion-dollar adult nightclub industry’s only national awards show, and we congratulate all of the deserving award winners and nominees.”

For the first time ever, ED Publications presented the House Mom of the Year Award for the industry’s top club “house mom.” Coupled with the return of the General Manager of the Year Award, these awards coincided with the EXPO’s sports-related theme, “Building a Winning Team in Your Club.” Shari Nevis of Rachel’s in West Palm Beach, FL, won the House Mom of the Year Award, while Ken Sistrunk of Rick’s Cabaret in New York City won the General Manager of the Year Award.

Also in conjunction with the EXPO and Award Show’s sports theme, a sports trivia contest was held during the “halftime” portion of the show that featured a substantial prize—two tickets to the 2010 Super Bowl!  Two contestants were picked in raffle style (each Award Show guest was given a raffle ticket upon entry), and those lucky contestants were feature entertainer Chelsea Charms and Anne Monlezun of industry company Glitz Teaz Pasties. The tickets were generously donated by the Rick’s Cabaret club chain.  The contestants were each asked three Super Bowl or NFL-related multiple choice trivia questions, and Monlezun won by answering two of the three questions correctly.

“It was great to see how ecstatic she was to win, and the crowd seemed to get a kick out of having the opportunity to answer the questions that the contestants could not answer correctly,” says Manack.  “I’d love to say that we’ll do it again next year, but how often do you get access to Super Bowl tickets?!”

QUOTES FROM 2009 ED'S AWARDS WINNERS

aw_09_01The Men's Club, Dallas, TX
Overall Gentlemen’s Club of the Year 2009

The old saying that “winning isn’t everything; it’s the only thing” isn’t necessarily true in our case.   Winning the ED “Overall Club of the Year” award represents a combination of factors from our facilities, management, staff, entertainers, and loyal customers.  But it also represents an industry that continues to compete to improve its public image, product, and customer satisfaction.  Competition makes all of us better.  This award also represents the positive impact that ED Publication has had by bringing our industry together through EXPO, acting as a nationally recognized conduit of useful and important information, as a supporter of ACE that celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, and as the presenter of this and all the other awards that acknowledges excellence throughout our industry.  Though it seems to be harder work every year just to stay open, getting together with friends from across the country, sharing drinks and stories, and attending the awards ceremony is still fun and worthwhile.  Winning just adds some icing to the cake.
— David Fairchild of The Men’s Club

aw_09_02Rachelle Laree
Overall Entertainer of the Year 2009

I couldn’t believe it! I was in complete shock. I’m so grateful to the club owners, friends and fans who voted for me.  I’d also like to thank ED Publications as well as my agents Frank Bane and Dave Michaels and especially my idol Schevelle who inspires me to be a better performer. I couldn’t have done it without any of you.
— Rachelle Laree, ED’s 2009 Overall Entertainer of the Year

aw_09_03Deja Vu Showgirls
Club Chain of the Year 2009

The Club Chain of the Year award is a tribute to the staff management and employees who made this possible.  To the tens of thousands of independent contractors and features, we thank you.  To all of those who voted for us, we appreciate your acknowledgment.   We would like to extend a special thank you to ED Publications and everyone involved in this industry, especially the other nominees who have worked so hard to achieve the degree of superiority that is displayed within your establishments.
— Jim St. John, CEO, Deja Vu Consulting
